FACE LIFT (FACIAL RHYTIDECTOMY)

Facial Rhytidectomy or face lift is a cosmetic surgery intended to reduce the signs of aging and give a more youthful appearance. During the procedure, the muscles beneath the skin of the neck are tightened, the skin itself is tightened, and excessive fat is removed. This is a popular cosmetic surgery, alongside with breast augmentation and liposuction.

Benefits of Facial Rhytidectomy (Face Lift)

Patients who try facial rhytidectomy feel more confident and their self esteem is improved. There are also additional benefits of a face lift procedure such as:

  • Get rid of both small and severe wrinkles
  • The effects of exposure to the sun and wind will be eliminated
  • Your facial skin will tighter, fresher and firmer
  • The skin will become more elastic and rejuvenated
  • It helps to create a beautiful, triangular facial shape
  • Reduces the hanging skin on the jaw line
  • Improves the fold situated above the upper lip

About The Procedure

This cosmetic procedure can take from 2 to 6 hours to perform. It can take even longer if a neck lift procedure is performed at the same time. During the procedure, general or light sleep anesthesia is commonly used. Local anesthesia might be required to numb the surgical area. Most patients sleep during the procedure and they don’t remember anything.

Incisions will be made above or within the hairline. The surgeon usually starts the incision behind the hairline and continues towards the front of the ear. The muscles and tissues under the skin are tightened and the skin itself is trimmed and pulled back. Surgical staples might be used instead of sutures to keep the skin into place.
